The Easter Rising in Dublin All

On 24 April 1916 (Easter Monday), Irish revolutionaries in Dublin rose in arms to assert the freedom of Ireland from the British Empire. Having issued a proclamation declaring the Irish Republic, members of the Irish Volunteers and Irish Citizen Army seized strategic positions across the capital and held out against overwhelming odds for six days. Dr. Ruan O’Donnell from Limerick University will outline the event and consequences of this momentous act which reverberated strongly in the USA.
